ENTERPRISE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP Dear Friends It is my pleasure to invite you on behalf of the International Enterprise Class association to join us in Doha for the Enterprise World Championships. This event will be organised by Doha Sailing Association, under the auspices of Qatar Marine Sports Federation, Registration for the event will open on 28th November and races will be held between 30th November and 5th December 2003. Competitors will be responsible for providing their own boats, however, charter boats will be available from the Indian Sailing Federation and we will advise of costs and arrangements for boat transport shortly. The entry fee for the event is $200, which includes entrance to three social events where dinner will be provided. We are working with hotels and airlines at present and will be able to offer special discount rates on flights and accommodation. In addition to this the sponsors of the event have agreed to provide an attractive prize package each day for winners of all categories including ladies and juniors. SAIL THE GULF FEB. 2003 Dear Friends It is my pleasure to invite you to join us in Qatar for the 12th Sail The Gulf international regatta to be held in Doha bay between 20th and 28th February 2003, organised by Doha Sailing Association, under the auspices of Qatar Marine Sports Federation. The regatta, under the patronage of His Highness, the Heir Apparent. Will open for registration on 20th February. Races will be run between 23rd and 28th February. This top class event will be open to the following classes, Laser Standard, Laser Radial, Laser 4.7, Optimist and 470. Laser sailors should note that the organising committee will provide the hull, rudder, centre board and spars, including mast bottom sections for Radial and 4.7 rigs. Sailors should bring their own sails, lines, tiller and tiller extension. Fully rigged boats will be provided for 470 and optimist classes. The entry fee for the regatta is $150 plus a $100 refundable deposit for boat damage, this fee includes three dinners which are part of the social programme accompanying the regatta. GULF SAILING TROPHY NOV. 2002 It is my pleasure to invite you to join us in Doha for a weekend regatta organised by Doha Sailing Association, under the auspices of Qatar Marine Sports Federation. The regatta will be open to the following classes, Laser Standard, Radial, 4.7, Optimist, 470, Hobby Cat, and Colgate 26. Cash prizes will be given to overall winners in each class as well as a trophy for first place in each of the five races. Two races will be held on Thursday afternoon commencing at 1.00pm and 3 races will be held on Friday 2 (two) in the morning starting at 9.00am and 1 (one) in the afternoon at 2.30pm. The entrance fee for all classes will be QR150 per boat, the fee is inclusive of boat hire for all classes except Colgate 26, where the weekend hire rate will be QR 800 per boat, these boats have a maximum capacity of six sailors. Laser sailors should note that the organising committee will provide the hull, rudder, centre board and spars, including mast bottom sections for Radial and 4.7 rigs. Sailors should bring their own sails, lines, tiller and tiller extension. Fully rigged boats will be provided for 470 , Optimist. And Colgate 26 classes. The host club, the host National Authority, their officers, members and volunteers do not accept any liability for loss of life or property, personal injury or damage to property caused by or arising out of the above regatta, and that sailors take part in the regatta entirely at thier own risk. And agree to be bound by the Racing Rules of the ISAF and the International Laser Class Rules as amended by the sailing instructions.

March. The 11th edition of Sail the Gulf , 4th edition of Arab Sailing Championship and 1st edition of GCC sailing Championship made the event a very attractive adn well attended championship. The event this year has been marked as one of the biggest sailing event organized by DOHA SAILING ASSOCIATION. Over 125 sailors from 27 countries of the world in Catamaran, 470,Laser Standard, Laser Radial and Optimist Calsses participated. The event started on 21st February and ended on 1st March 2002. The winds through out the event were medium to strong where sailors had all the opportunities to excel. The event has also identified the potentionals of sailing in this region. The most competed classes were Optimist and Lasers in which over 35 boats in Optimist and over 50 boats in Laser Class were registered. Tow racing areas were formed. Area ALPHA was within the harbor and was for the Optimist class whereas area BRAVO was for the Catamaran, Lase4r Std., Laser Rd., and 470 classes. As per sailing instruction 9 races were to be sailed out of which 2 discards wre allowed. However due to very strong winds only 8 races could be completed in area ALPHA and 7 races could be completed in area BRAVO. CHECK RESULTS PAGE

On Behalf of Doha Sailing Association I would like to extend an invitation to sailors, their families and friends, to visit Doha to take part in Sail the Gulf 2002 and the Fourth Arab Sailing Championships 21 Feb – 1st. Mar 2002. The event is under the patronage of Qatar Marine Sports Federation. It will consist of the famous Sail the Gulf and 4th Arab Championships. The Races starts on 23rd February and continue until 1st March 2002 for Laser (Standard, Radial), 470 and Optimist Classes. Sail the Gulf is designated a Grade II Event for the ISAF World Rankings. Boats for this event will be supplied free of charge. As in previous years the Doha Sailing Association have arranged some attractive prizes for the winners, and this year cut the Entry Fees to $100 which includes 3 social functions too. We have also negotiated with Qatar Airways to be the Official Carrier for the event and to give you a special airfare to Doha. We will supply you with a letter to present to the Qatar Airways Office in your Country to take advantage of this offer. The 470 International Class Association will organise a clinic in Doha on 21st/ 22nd February 2002. This booklet gives the Notice of Race together with entry details and booking form. A social programme is being planned for both competitors and non-competitors. I hope enjoy it.
